On Aurelie's 12th birthday, at 12 o'clock, when she can't get to sleep and goes outside to get some fresh air, she saw ghosts everywhere; mainly on the ghost train.

Aurelie’s great, great, great grandfather was an archaeologist in Egypt and was digging up an Egyptian temple and found a beautiful golden amulet and stole it from the temple. But there was a curse on that amulet. A curse that would make the Bonhoffens and all their generations to come see ghosts.

Aurelie gazed into the darkness as her dad told her that their family’s secret is that every 2nd generation in their family is turned into a reaper when they are 16 years old. Madison Siladi:
"There's something we've been keeping from you for a long time," Uncle Rolo said. ‘We're fairies." Aurelie thought they were joking.
"What? We can't be. I don't see any of you flying around spreading fairy dust! They don't even exist!" Aurelie's mother stepped in.
"We're not that type of fairy. We don't have wings or magic wands." Aurelie's head was spinning.
"Is this a joke? I'm not a fairy! I would've realised that by now.”
"I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner, Aurelie, but it's all true. Being a fairy is hard work and it's about time we told you."
"Yeah," Uncle Rolo added, "You know that big vase sitting in the lounge room? That's were we keep our secret things. You know, like all our fairy stuff. We have the ability to make things small, so that's where we hid them.”
"And that little friend of yours that moved schools…" her mother started.
"She wasn't my friend. She bullied me every day. I told you guys about it and a week later she went to another state or something."
"You're interfering uncle here, decided to send her on a trip," her mother spat out.
"This is not happening! You're not fairies. This is just too creepy!" Aurelie ran to her room, thinking her family was going crazy. She was about to find out a whole new meaning, of being a fairy.
